ROAD TO NOWHERE
USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR M. ROBINSON
COVER MODEL: MARSHALLPERRIN
PHOTOGRAPHER: WANDER
COVER DESIGN: THE FINAL WRAP

I once read that every warrior hoped an honorable death would find him. I always went looking for mine, but not even the Reaper wanted me.
I was trained to kill. I was trained to not ask why. To take orders and just march in line. Hooah motherfucker.
Life or death.
Ride or die.
And I’m not only talking about the military. I’m talking about the life that led me on the road to nowhere.
My life.
I fought for my brothers.
I fought for my family.
I fought for my country.
And I fought for her…

Never realizing I might die for them too.

A Whole Lot of Confusion

Where to even start with this book? I'm not sure what M Robinson was going for when writing Road to Nowhere. The characters were on the borderline of vapid and the storyline(s) were all over the place.

Road to Nowhere is a spin off of the Good Ol' Boys series where we learn how Creed and Mia came to be. Right off the bat the creep meter hit red for me because they met when Mia was nine and Creed eighteen. There isn't anyway to justify an adult "admiring" the "spirit" of a child, no matter how well she surfs. And child is a term I use loosely, as she was written more like a teenager. I have a thirteen year old girl and she, nor her friends talk like little Mia. This is the second time that I've felt this author has written her young character much older than their age, which I have a hard time with. It doesn't fit.

Now for Creed. I found nothing redeeming about this guy. Sure he was born into the MC and had no choice but to patch in, however he was the whiniest biker I have ever read about and I have read a lot of MC books. This guy was an emotional wreck, letting his feelings for a child dictate his entire life. Such a strange concept. Very woe is me page after page, yet he did nothing to try and change his situation.

The story was all over the board, almost as if M. Robinson didn't have a plan going into it. By the end, it turned into an episode of the Jerry Springer show and Mia was the trailer park trash star. I hated the turn she took and how Creed reacted. Like most of the book, it didn't work. It was too much.

Told from dual points of view, Road to Nowhere didn't capture my interest and was of course left with a cliffhanger ending. After what Mia turned into, I don't think I even care what happens to her next.

3 Stars!

M. Robinson has had a fan in me for quite some time now. This chick can write her ass off. Her words and stories tend to be raw, gritty, and mind bending with twists and turns you'll never see coming. So why the 3 stars? It was about connection....  and I just couldn't connect like I should have with this story or these characters.

Road to Nowhere took me on a partial, not yet completed, journey that honestly did just that...  really led to nowhere other than leaving me with some slight confusion,  jaw dropping information, and a gazillion questions and absolutely none of the answers. This book was just a lot... hovering over the border of almost too much for one story.

You won't get any spoilers from me on the plot. I will tell you that this is a spin-off book/series that intertwines with her releases, El  Diablo and the Good Ol Boys series....  both which I highly recommend. And this book does end on a wicked cliffhanger.

Honestly,  this is just a true "it's me not you" kind of thing. I definitely look forward to future books by this author.

I recommend this book to high angst lovers and fans of this author.

3 Stars!

The story is loaded full of angst, confusion, unanswered questions, twists and turns, and a huge cliffhanger.  This is a spinoff of Good Ol Boys and El Diablo.

This story will drag you in and keep you scratching your head and the edge of your seat for the ride.  You will get desire, passion, mayhem, murder, and really anything you can think up just might be in this book.  At times I needed to re-read as I was confused with where the author was going.   But I could have done with a little less drama and angst.  But when it ended on a cliffy I wanted to throw my kindle…….  I love her other books but this one was a little over the top for me.

I recommend this book and this author.
