[Blog Tour + Review] Hooked by Brenda Rothert

Today we have a review stop for the brand new release, HOOKED by Brenda Rothert. This book is a contemporary sports romance title and one we highly recommend!

From the author of the On the Line and Fire on Ice hockey romance series comes a sultry novel featuring a brooding NHL player who’s hell on skates—and the no-nonsense woman who forces him to clean up his act.

Miranda: Even though I’m broke, putting myself through college, and working two jobs, I’m trying to make the best of it. Meanwhile, Jake Birch, hockey’s hottest bad boy, lives in a luxury hotel in downtown Chicago—and still complains about every little thing in his penthouse. But after I tell him off, instead of getting me fired, Jake requests me as his personal housekeeper. Then he starts flirting with me. Only I’m not flirting back . . . at least, I’m trying not to. Did I mention that he’s hockey’s hottest bad boy?

Jake: I’ve met the best woman at the worst possible time. Miranda is the fire to my ice—a sexy, charmingly candid spark who breaks down my walls and reminds me what it’s like to feel again. But I’m being forced to date my team owner’s daughter to keep my job, so I can’t be caught with Miranda. Still, we’re getting closer—until Miranda finds out about my “girlfriend.” And that’s not the only secret I’ve been keeping. But Miranda’s the one I want . . . even if she doesn’t believe me.

Brenda Rothert is back with a sexy new sports romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat and begging for more after the pages quit turning. Full of intensity and passion, Jake and Miranda are going to wedge themselves into your heart and hook you from the start.

Hooked did just that.... hooked me to the pages of this beautiful story. Chapter to chapter, I raced to that happy ending, desperate for these two to find it. Rothert did a good job balancing out the angst, romance and steam, making the words seamlessly flow page to page and making the storyline captivating from the start.

This book will definitely be a top read of 2016 for me. I swooned hard for Jake and Miranda. Together, these two were magnetic. Now don't get me wrong, this book was fantastic but  it wasn't all easy. These two have obstacles in their path and they had to face life but... in the end it all worked out and was totally with it.

I highly recommend this book.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, pain, betrayal, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Miranda and Jake’s story.  Miranda is working two jobs and going to school.  She meets Jake when she goes in to clean his room.  He has demands he wants for his room.  She gets them but mocks him about them.  He likes her and is attracted to her.  When he is force to date someone else he is not happy but refuses to stop pursuing Miranda.  He will just have to keep secrets.  The more time they spend together the more they fall but what happens when secrets are revealed.  When misunderstands get in the way?  Can these two people overcome the secrets and learn to move on from a crazy situation?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.
