[Review] Dylan's Redemption by Jennifer Ryan

Title: Dylan's Redemption
Series: Book Three, The McBrides
Author: Jennifer Ryan
Release Date: August 12, 2014

There's a new sheriff in Fallbrook … Meet Dylan McBride.

Jessie Thompson had one hell of a week. Dylan McBride, the boy she loved, skipped town without a word. Then her drunk of a father tried to kill her, and she fled Fallbrook, vowing never to return.

Eight years later, her father is dead, and Jessie reluctantly goes home—only to come face-to-face with the man who shattered her heart. A man who, for nearly a decade, believed she was dead.

Dylan accepted the position as sheriff of Fallbrook looking for a fresh start and a chance to uncover the truth about Jessie's disappearance. He knew he'd have to face a few ghosts … he just never thought one would be Jessie, all grown up, stunning … and alive.

The pull between them is instant, but Dylan's heart has already mourned Jessie, and she has secrets she can never share. Can they escape the darkness of their past for a chance at a bright future together?

4 Stars!

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, pain, grief, and heartbreak.

If you have not already read the below I would recommend reading those books first...
Confessions of a Secret Admirer: A Valentine's Day Anthology
The Return of Brody McBride (The McBrides, #1)
Falling for Owen (The McBrides, #2)

This is Jessie and Dylan’s story. Dylan left her to join the Marines. She was considered dead by her father’s hand but with no body they could never prove it. When Dylan came back to town he joined the Sheriff. No matter whom he asked he never got any answers. Now years later she is back in town to see to her father’s funeral. Dylan is shocked and needs to know what happened to her and why she left. She does not have time for going over the past. She is in town to whip her brother into shape and save his marriage and bury her father. But the more Dylan comes around the more he learns about her. The more he still wants and loves her. Can he get over what secrets they both have in the past? Can they figure out a future after all the dust settles? Of is this the goodbye closure that they both need?

I loved these characters and also the side characters. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this series and this author.
