When her mother’s incessant matchmaking hits an all-time high, Georgie Archibald does what any sensible woman would do: she flees the country.

Seeking refuge in the picturesque seaside village of Vernazza, Italy, Georgie’s only plan is to lie low, gorge herself on gelato, and let the wine and waves wash her troubles away...that is until she wakes up in a bed that belongs to the most romantic-looking man she’s ever seen.

After going out of his way to rescue her, the former London financier turned mysterious recluse makes it clear that despite acting as her white knight, he has no plans to co-star in her fairytale.

But Georgie isn’t asking for his heart—she’s merely intrigued.

After all, Gianluca isn’t just gorgeous—tall and tan from days spent in the sun—his touch sets her world on fire. With him, Georgie experiences the most intoxicating passion she’s ever known, and it only takes a few steamy nights for her to realize that sometimes running away from trouble is the best way to find it.

5 Stars!
A True Old Fashioned Romance

Sure it took a few chapters to lay the foundation, however A Place in the Sun is a nice, solid romance that keeps you on your toes the entire time. It's one of those books where at some point you are irritated with both leading characters and want them to just go away, but not really.

Georgie comes off as a spoiled rich girl looking to bide her time until the "perfect" man comes along to marry her. She's a bit of a woe is me character and it took a few pages for me to actually like or sympathize with her. The girl grows on ya though, something fierce.

Gianluca was an ass. A complete and utter ass from the second he appears in the story. That said, there is a dark cloud surrounding him and I couldn't wait to see what was hidden in his past to make him so anti-social. It ends up being heartbreaking and instantly gives him a pass in my book.

With the fortitude Georgie possesses, you can see Gianluca doesn't stand a chance, no matter how tall the walls around his heart are. He's like a scared puppy when it comes right down to it. I couldn't read fast enough to see how/if things were even going to work out for these two. The angst is at an all time high, with a pretty predictable twist towards the end, however I liked what was done with it.

The book is well written from dual points of view and the review vague to protect the various storylines. R.S. Grey gives her readers a sweet and sexy love story featuring the guy next door to Samantha in the Sex and the City movie (in my opinion) and a whole lot more. We get a few supporting characters for added humor and a nice epilogue to complete the tale of Georgie and Gianluca.

I am a lover of books, chocolate, reality TV, black labs, and cold weather. Seriously, if I had it my way I would be curled up on the couch with all of those things... everyday.

I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors are Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I'm a comedy geek and love all things "funny". Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
