BOOK BLURB:
One accident - a freaking car crash.
That’s all it took to send my brother’s and my life into a tailspin with no end in sight. I was going to be something. I was going to be the best. I had the Olympics in my sights. And it all went to shit in one flash. Brayden wasn’t ready to raise a younger sister when I was thrown into his lap. He had his life and everything going for him. Thankfully, he was still drafted to his dream hockey team. The same one dad played for when we were growing up.
It took time, but I started to get better, started to open up, started skating and even dating again. I even thought I found the perfect guy for me.
Isn’t it funny how guys hit on you when they know you’re not available, but when you’re single they won’t give you the freaking time of day? I guess the game is more fun that way. And for the captain of my brother’s team, that’s exactly what I was. A hat trick is three goals in hockey. Some say three is a crowd and they might be right.
I was Gavin Hayes' unobtainable goal.

OUR REVIEWS:

3.5 Stars!

As a fan of hockey romance, I couldn't wait to read Hat Trick. It sounded perfect and except for a few hiccups, it was a sweet romance with a little more on the side.

Brayden and Myla have been through quite a bit in the past and now only have each other. She's recovering from a tragic car accident and he is trying to take care of her while still playing professional hockey. His past makes him a tad bit violent on the ice, however the news of his sister's new man makes him even worse.

After making a full recovery, Myla, who was a skater herself, heads back out to the ice in more of a teaching fashion this time. Getting back into the groove of living, working and skating, Myla isn't necessarily looking for a guy. Not until the right one comes along at the right time.

Gavin is the teammate to Brayden and the guy interested in his sister. Not thinking much about the "bro code" and that Brayden knows how most hockey players are with the "bunnies" he makes a play for Myla anyway. After what he went through with his last girlfriend, he figures what the hell.

So we set upon this little journey with Brayden, Gavin and Myla. While it's interesting, it also comes across as predictable and a little flat. Kristen Hope Mazzola crammed a lot of storylines in a short book and it felt extremely rushed. While I am a fan of the novella, or short story, fewer subjects to follow would have made Hat Trick feel more fulfilling when it was all said and done.

4 Stars!

I was pulled right into this story.  The story has suspense and heartache.

This Myla and Gavin's story.  Myla was in an accident that changed her life. After the accident she had to readjust her life her goals she could no longer complete.  Now she's trying to move on with her life she meets Gavin through her brother.  They start out as friends which turns into more.  The more they are together the closer they become what is it going to cost her her relationship with her brother?  Or will her brother be okay with her being with Gavin? Is Gavin with her forever or is he just here for the time being?  Gavin used to be a man whore.  But since being with her he's changed his ways can he prove that he's changed?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I recommend this book.
